Trails: AT, bushwhack, AT

Trail Conditions: Some pretty wet sections on the bottom mile to Crocker Cirque, and steep but stable rocks on the steep ascent to the ridge leading to the S. Crocker summit. Bushwhack was a little thick once leaving the S. Crocker summit, but cleared quickly and was very easy to follow all the way to the Redington summit. AT to N. Crocker was all in good shape.

Equipment: None.

Comments: After our hike in the morning-early afternoon, we decided to tackle 3 more peaks before the day was over. Back down the CVR we went to the AT and made decent time heading up the steep section of S. Crocker. The views at the viewpoint were actually beautiful because we saw exactly what we had down earlier that day. We decided that since we are novice bushwhackers, we would do Redington first and then make our way back to S. Crocker to get back on the AT before the sun would set. The bushwhack was exactly as described by others and easy to follow (especially with all the ribbons). We noticed another obvious herdpath just below the summit that looked like a clear path down to the CVR. Oh well, maybe next time? We were able to find the canister on Redington and headed back to our 2nd ascent of S. Crocker. We refueled and got to N. Crocker just before the sunset. Then, a lovely 3rd ascent of South Crocker, our headlamps were thrown on, and the safe, slow descent back to the CVR was made in the dark. We were exhausted by the time we reached the car, but happy with our performance that day, and started traveling back to find some place still open with food! What a fun exhausting day!
