Yeah . . .mine too . . . he is almost done with the NH48 in a single winter !!! He has 3 left to go as of my last check on his progress . . . What a DOG !

Try switching over from snowshoes to crampons on a steep narrow spot at the beginning of Owl's Head slide and have Brutus come up to check on you!! Hike with him and Kevin - it is a treat!!

I've yet to meet him on the trail, but have had the pleasure off. Kevin - Brutus is one lucky dog to have you as a friend!

I met Brutus and Kevin for the first time at the NH 4000 Footer Awards presentation a couple years ago. Appropriately named!

In days of yore (when I was an AMC member), I recall following the hiking exploits of a dog (who's name escapes me) and his human companion.

These stories were a riot and they usually appeared in Appalachia Journal and were really well-done. I believe the author was Doug "Bongo Boy" Mayer of RMC and NPR's Car Talk fame (Doug runs the Shamless Commerce Web Site).

Maybe Brutus needs a similar scribe to help him express the K-9 joys and frustrations of hiking with humans.
