Date of Hike: Saturday, February 28th

Trails: Ammonoosuc Ravine Trail, Monroe Loop Trail, Crawford Path Gulfside, Jefferson Loop Trail, Westside Trail, Eisenhower Loop Trail, Webster Cliff Trail, Webster-Jackson Trail, Route 302, Mount Clinton Road, Base Station Road.

Special Equipment: Snoweshoes, Light Traction

Trail Conditions: Ammonoosuc is well broken and has a good styrofoam snow above treeline. Snowshoes worked fine and traction would be fine, too. Monroe Loop had hard packed snow and more rocks than snow on top near the summit, snowshoes or light traction is fine. Crawford Path up to Washington was in great shape with good snow, snowshoes or light traction was fine. Gulfside past the Jewell trail junction over to Jefferson and the Jefferson loop was better in light traction than snowshoes. Westside Trail is fine with snowshoes or light traction, the snowfields as you approach the Crawford Path are easy to get across, very little ice to navigate around. Crawford Path around Monroe has a snowfield that's pretty steep, (similar to the one on Jefferson) snowshoes with aggressive crampon or crampons are a good choice here. Crawford Path between Monroe and Eisenhower is fine with light traction or snowshoes, same goes for Eisenhower Loop. Crawford Path south of Eisenhower, Webster Cliff, and Webster-Jackson Trail has a great snowshoes track right now. Mount Clinton road can be snowshoed, microspiked, or barebooted, watch out for snowmobilers.

Comments: The weather was phenomenal, wind was not a factor and views were tremendous. It was a great day to roam around the Presidential Range :) Report / Pictures
