Our annual June "Feed the Black Flies" trip to Baxter was last weekend. We had nine people, although we never managed to all stand in front of a camera at the same time.

Our itinerary was:

Thursday evening 6/18 - drive up after work
Friday 6/19 - moose viewing at Sandy Stream Pond, hike S. Turner Mtn
Saturday 6/20 - hike Katahdin. Up Hamlin Ridge, down Knife Edge/Helon Taylor. Some went the other direction
Sunday 6/21 - pack up in the rain; big breakfast at the A.T. Cafe; home.

It was 20 years ago this month that I first hiked Katahdin. =)

I am grateful for a wonderful weekend with old friends and new, and for an enjoyable and safe day on the mountain.

Thank you!

Beautiful days you had. Glad you enjoyed it. I'm hoping the bugs are satiated so when I come up they won't be interested in me!
