Trail Conditions: Dry, with just a few icy spots in the shade at higher elevation.

Comments: It turned out to be a crisp, mostly sunny fall day after a rainy night. Great views from the top; colors appeared to be about peak or slightly past. Coming from Maine, the drive over Hurricane Mountain Road proved to be quite exciting, too. I think it would be a fun ski in the winter. I drove home through Evans Notch; the colors were particularly striking in the Basin Pond area.
