Is the Jefferson Notch Rd really still open as of 1-4-14?

    Hi all,

    http://www.fs.usda.gov/detailfull/wh...538&width=full

The Forest Service's website says the Jefferson Notch Rd is open, but that it could be closed at any time.

Has anyone been up the road recently? Can anyone speak to the conditions of the Caps Ridge Trail?

    Thanks!

Call the state of NH DOT for information on this road.

I'm pretty sure they never officially close it because it is groomed for snowmobiling all winter. I wouldn't try driving it though.

It was reported earlier that they were down a webmaster, so I wouldn't count on that page being updated regularly right now. Calling is the best option if it's important.

It is Corridor 11, a major snowmobile trail in winter.

Given the forecast for the weekend I expect it may be bare dirt by Monday.
