Garfield via Garfield and Garfield Ridge Trails (the normal route) 3/27/16

Road walk in was a bit muddy but not bad at all. Trail was mostly frozen ground up until about half way, we were down by 10am, so this probably softened and turned to mud later. After that, the ice monorail appeared, and was eventually covered with soft snow. A few sidehill sections were slanted clear ice, which looked daunting but was no problem with Nano-Spikes.
Summit was clear and calm, thick clouds fog to Lincoln and points south though. Nothing else of note, except that water levels were average and brook crossings easy, even with ice on the rocks.

Special Equipment Required: You need traction. Nano-spikes worked perfect for our run. If you're hiking and not running you might want micro-spikes instead, they'll work better in the snow up high, less glissading necessary.
