Forest Legacy Trail Directions

I will be on Mooselookmeguntic Lake camping and fishing this summer and thought I might want to get some land legs and hike the trail. I understand that you can get there via water across from Haines Landing but would like to have some better directions, can anyone help?

If you don't hear anything more detailed from someone, pick up a copy of the Highlander local paper - I remember seeing a trail description in last year's paper.

JD,

I think the trail starts just north of Little Mud Pond on the western shore. If you paddle across from Haine's Landing, I think it's directly across the water. I haven't been there from that side, so I'm not positive, but I'm pretty sure.

I assume you already know you can drive around Cupsuptic on Rt. 16 and enter it that way. It's probably 8-10 miles from Oquossoc.
