Trail Conditions: Webster Cliffs Trail was mostly dry with some minor muddy spots. Mt. Clinton trail was very muddy and overgrown as advertised, difficult to locate in a few places. Stream crossings on MCT were rock hoppable but trail to/from each crossing sometimes difficult to navigate. Dry River trail mostly dry with some minor mud on newer sections that bypass Irene damage.

Special Equipment Required: Poles helpful. Perhaps water shoes for wading Dry River.

Comments: We knew going in that Mount Clinton Trail was going to be rough but it did have many pretty spots as well. Met two FS rangers near the end of our hike who were heading up Dry River to deal with some illegal campers. They said that there is a plan to repair MCT - not this season, but within the next 5 seasons. Future redliners may wish to wait them out. We did not try to find a rock crossing of Dry River and opted just to wade.
