Forest Service land is the "Land of Multiple Uses". I expect most folks who visit the Greens or the Whites do not envision commercial wind farms on NF lands. There are ski areas who probably have as much or more impact. I wonder if the NF collects the pittance in lease payments that they do from the ski areas?. I expect the towns and states cut is far more lucrative. Given the historical battle that Vt went through with the fed about developing the ridgeline into the "Blue Ridge Parkway north" its surprising that the citizens would allow this.
I expect the lack of transmission infrastructure north of Lincoln NH much keep it away from the majority of the WMNF.
