As we continue to hike the different sections of the Georges Highland Path in Maine, we came across a gem of a mountain: Hogback Mountain. Also, the Gibson Preserve. A spectacular view from the summit of Hogback Mountain to the mountains of Acadia made it a well worthwhile trek.

Nice photos - thanks. By the way, Shelf Fungus are sometimes worth having a close look. Back at the turn of the century, not this latest one, people used to scrape their names and dates into the lower surface and leave the shelf on the tree or log where it is living and since these fungi are very long lived they can hold those markings for many years.
