Maybe looking at Kinsman Notch/Kinsmans from Blue or Jim?

The side of Vose Spur to the lower left with the talus slope. Lowell across the way to the right with Anderson behind it to the left. Nancy and Bemis behind Anderson. One can see the Webster Cliffs behind the long ridge coming off Nancy. The Presidential Range behind it all with the Carters and Wildcats off to the right. Significant logging on those hills. The shot was most likely taken somewhere up high on the Signal Ridge trail. Very neat shot.

That was my second guess.

For those not familiar with the scope of logging in the Whites, that photo say's a lot. Very nice snap shot of the logging era.

Yup, the little saddle on top of Signal Ridge, where there's a great view. The "bat-signal" on Mt Lowell is a dead giveaway. Webster cliff from this angle is pretty distinctive too.

You can still see those logging scars on Anderson and Nancy today, if you look closely, especially in winter.
