Trail Conditions: Icy, some snow cover of a few inches, water crossings easy, a couple downed trees, easy to navigate.

Special Equipment Required: light traction necessary for icy, steeper sections of Mount Osceola Trail. Headlamp for night hiking. Winter warm gear.

Comments: there's no need for blaze orange in hunting season once it's dark. Decided to do a night hike of East Osceola on a beautiful night. A group was finishing as I started up with headlamp on. I passed two comfortable campers near the junction with Osceola Trail and two more hikers headed out shortly after. The Ridge was windy but it was a gorgeous, clear, dry night. Perfect. As always, care is needed on the various icy ledges and at the slide. It was pretty manageable for now. I wouldn't go without traction.
