    Trail Closure on Twin in the Catskills

    The DEC has closed the Western approach to Twin, due to safety concerns. The East approach remains open.

    So a Devil's Path traverse is off the table until the situation is resolved.

    Short version of the events so far:

    • The DEC recently installed metal rungs in a particularly steep section of the trail. This caused a great deal of discussion.
    • An unknown individual removed/vandalized 2 of the rungs.
    • DEC closed the trail.

    The trail has been re-routed and re-opened, sans metal rungs...
