Looks like we are going to be seeing less moose in the woods. New Hampshire F&G has also also building up support to do a similar management effort. Northern Maine has been bucking the trend to the point where the population is expanding and they are not seeing as much tick damage.

Its been noticeable to me the drop in the moose population in the Northern Presidential's in the last several years. The moose are still around but the roadside density has dropped. My neighborhood had usually had a resident female moose that roamed the neighborhood after dark in the evening and early morning with their calves and would retreat to nearby wetland during the day. There still are moose that move through the area but its more infrequent. There are still vehicle collisions but somewhat rarer although the I-93 corridor seems to still have a lot of accidents.
