It can be really hard to maintain your boundaries and corners.

It happens all the way up...Dover and Rollinsford are in the middle of a long-simmering boundary dispute (there's a road that's either on the town line or just barely entirely in one town or the other) despite the requirement to walk the bounds regularly.

And all the way down... Every so often someone raises the issue of where the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard is really located: Maine or NH. Supposedly some very old maps show the state boundary line east and north of Seavey Island on which the Yard is located. Other maps show the line down the center of the Piscataqua River.

The thousands of NH residents working at the Yard would save Maine income tax if only.... Lots at "stake" in boundary setting!
