    Interesting Image from the Obs

    Saw this tonight on the Obs cam and wondered about it.

    The time stamp on the pic (5:22) is well after dark yet the image is pretty clear. I wonder what camera they use to get the low-light functionality.

    They report 90-mile visibility. Would the lights on the right side of the pic be Portland Maine?

    They are probably using high ISO setting which is probably why the picture looks a bit grainy. They could be also setting exposure time higher at night. For comparison, I took these two pictures in total darkness while backpacking in Sierra Nevada back in September but I used longer exposure time to get enough light:

    As a side remark, I was not able to the mountain ridges with my eyes at the time.
