"Summits in Solidarity is a non-profit organization founded in 2020 by hikers from Wobanadenok (The White Mountains of NH). Our mission is to foster justice and equity for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) by amplifying BIPOC voices in outdoor spaces, supporting anti-oppression and anti-racist efforts, and mobilizing hikers and outdoor recreation community members to dismantle white supremacy."

Solidarity Night at the Notch

The Notch Hostel is hosting a benefit for Summits in Solidarity, the non-profit dedicated to supporting Black, Indigenous, and People of Color on and off the trails, on the night of June 25th, 2022, and you're invited! Enjoy a night of socializing with other participants, volunteers, and board members around the backyard firepit (rain location: living room).

Join us for a special screening of the short film Mardi and the Whites. The film features Summits in Solidarity board member Mardi Fuller hiking in the White Mountains of NH and is peek into the challenges of being Black in a PWI (primarily white institution), in this case the institution of hiking or outdoor culture.

DAYTIME: Summits in Solidarity's annual hike day (participate from anywhere)
7 PM: Potluck pasta-with-pesto dinner (bring an app or dessert!)
7:30 - 8:00 PM: Outdoor film screening, Mardi and the Whites
8:00-8:30 PM: Screening of conversation with Mardi Fuller, film Director, Producer, & Editor, Paula Champagne, and Boston Globe's Jeneé Osterheldt
8:30 - 9:00 PM: Q+A with Mardi and other Summits in Solidarity board members

The Notch Hostel will be donating ALL proceeds from the night to Summits in Solidarity's June $25K fundraiser for BIPOC-led racial justice work outdoors.

Attend for the evening or stay overnight; be sure to RSVP as space is limited and going fast. If you can't make it and still want to support the cause, you can participate in a Solidarity Day anytime in June, or simply make a donation by June 30th. Join the movement!
