Here's the Union Leader report:

[start quote] Mass. man, 72, carried off trail
BARTLETT — A Massachusetts man had to be carried off a trail in the White Mountains yesterday after he suffered dehydration, a Fish and Game officer said.

Ronald Day, 72, of North Reading, was hiking along on the Langdon Trail when he collapsed 2½ miles from the parking area at about noon, said Conservation Officer Brian Abrams. The muscles in his back cramped and he was unable to go further.

A passing hiker found Day about 45 minutes later, hiking down to the Bear North corner store and calling authorities, Abrams said. Day was so dehydrated rescue crews had to give him an IV, he said.

Day was carried about a half-mile down the trail. [end quote]
