    Historic USFS WMNF Maps

Salty - thank you! Lots of old trails on these topos. Awesome! It supports my mapping-data hoarding habit :D

    Is Bushwhacking for you ??

I rarely post, but I have to chime in and agree with everything @Nessmuk and @peakbagger said. I would also add that you should understand your comfort level. Know when it’s okay to push that boundary and when you should bail. When you plan a route, know your exit strategies for any point during...

    Cabot Bushwhack - 3/3

At the beginning of the Month, I bushwhacked Mount Cabot. The conditions were great and the view was awesome! https://goo.gl/photos/GHCmmo3x6r4NCws68 Dennis

Owl's Head Bushwhack 1/28 - Spire, Ears, The Owl's Head

A few weeks back I hiked Owl's Head via the sharp peak on the south side of the ridge. I've heard it called The Spire, The Owl's Head, and The Ears. The snow was piled up quite high at the top, so I caught views to the South, East, and West. https://goo.gl/photos/zrpAWWqFssbM7bes8 Dennis

West Spur of Whiteface from Flat Mountain Pond Trail

The weekend before last, I visited the West Spur of Whiteface via the long ridge that extends South. The conditions were wonderful. I'm looking forward to the Winter! https://goo.gl/photos/jjXwFyEBkLMgm18g7 Dennis

11/12 - Southern Ridge of Bondcliff

A few weeks back, I spent some time climbing through the forest on the southern ridge of Bondcliff. The trip was fun, lots of open woods and a few thick spots. I'd like to explore the area again! https://goo.gl/photos/2YWJ7TL6NR156vmk7 Dennis

    10/8 - Roaming Hale

Hey Becca! Thanks! Those slides on S. Twin I visited are just South of the summit. There were a few branches of the Little River that headed west. I think it was the second branch when I headed south...

    10/8 - Roaming Hale

Thanks, skiguy! I've been most of the way up that valley. Last year, I turned up the valley to South Twin and those slides. It's so wild! On the way up the valley, I saw the remains of an old logging camp and I saw visible signs of a logging road that could have been used as a trail. The...

    10/8 - Roaming Hale

The trip I wanted to report on this month ended up being a bit of a rainy mess, so here's a fun journey I made earlier in October on Hale, during some beautiful foliage! https://goo.gl/photos/LTazxbeELRSXSoXR6 Dennis

    Osceola & Split Cliff

I ascended Osceola via a small landslide flanking Split Cliff last week. I caught some great views of the leaves changing color throughout the Pemi. https://goo.gl/photos/FnDVxFQGg69fNn9J9 Dennis

That sounds intriguing! Is it marked on topo maps?

Mount Carrigain from the Carrigain Branch 7/20

Haha! Thanks, Sue :) Yeah, I love that long ridge of Hancock, so I've been to NWH many times. I have a rule when repeating summits. I have to do it differently each time. Each of my ascents to NWH is a different approach.
