I will often get requests from my USFS trail manager (I'm a volunteer) to remove blowdowns that are on adopted or un-adopted trails. Frankly they are ones that are sizable and would require someone with axe or crosscut saw training. I dropped a hazard 2' diameter Hemlock blowdown near the basin...

same issue at northwoods meadows state park in Northwood, NH. NH state parks unhelpful / unwilling to address / correct. Said it was done by a volunteer group.
The entire Rocky Branch trail is open. No official announcement made yet but it is all open (trail signs back up). Cedar Brook (Pemi) and Rocky Branch (Saco) are different ranger districts / different crews.
Doesn't seem like this has been officially posted in another thread but the Rocky Branch trail was officially re-opened last week. No announcement from the Forest Service but was told by some at the Saco Ranger District that the Forest order / closure was listed. I hiked the beginning section...
Training required for both axe and chainsaw use. Volunteers rarely sign up for or get chainsaw certs. I'm a volunteer trainer for the axe use program on WMNF. Trainings usually take place in the spring.
I don't think this is the case.

Different Forest Service ranger districts. Different projects. More planning and decisions involved in dry river I'd guess. Also different trail crew staffing levels among districts.
I believe that is the plan. I don't work for the forest service but I am an active volunteer. Someone posted the decision and plan in another thread I think.
