On Saturday we skied on the Spruce Goose until the gate about ~1 mile in, the road was great skiing after the gate and Spruce Goose was super. On the way back we were able to ski down the road, no problem at all.
Snow data from NOAA
I just found this link, not sure how accurate it is but I think it's pretty cool:

Thanks for the info Audrey....I guess the choice of what trail to ski down will be the last decision we make. We are doing lift service (the horror!) on Saturday so depending on what is skiing nice then and how much time we have, we'll pick a trail.
I've searched around the site a bunch but haven't found an answer to this question.
I'd like to do a trip starting as far in on the CVR road as possible and up the AT, over to Sugarloaf (ME) summit and ski down to the lodge.
Due to work obligations on Sunday evening, time is a little tight...
I received this email today from the friends of Bigelow and thought it was worth passing on:
Dear Friends:
We are writing you on a matter of urgency regarding the Bigelow Preserve. As you may have seen in recent news articles, the State of Maine is proposing a land swap with the Gardner...
I overnighted at Bigelow Col a couple weekends ago. The boxed in spring up the trail toward Avery had some water...not a lot and in drier times I could see it being unreliable. You'll want to filter for sure.
I did not see another spring or signs, but also wasn't looking too hard.
Another thumbs up for the canyons...Bryce was my favorite. Unworldly rock formations and good trails off the main rim that seem surprisingly uncrowded.
Zion has amazing geography but I thought a lot of the middle of the park hikes (Observation Point, Angel's Landing) were way too crowded/paved...
june 16th update
I just called the park and they said they just opened Chimney Pond for camping and all trails except Saddle would be open this weekend. I'm ready for the mud...
Spongebob & yam...
You guys are more than welcome to ride with us, but I will re-iterate that it might mean having a beagle and/or welsh terrier in your lap for part of the trip. They might stay in the back of the station wagon, but they are likely not too....the beagle is very calm, the welsh...
A couple of more details....9:30 meeting time at the trailhead so we should plan on leaving Portland at 7:30. And we will do the Wright Trail which should make for a great hike and shorter drive!
On for this Sunday, 6/12
We are on for this Sunday. Looks like it will be me, my girlfriend and our dogs leaving from Portland. Yam also leaving from Portland and we'll meet MEB at the trailhead.
Anybody else?
Yam - do you want a ride or will you drive seperately?
Finalizing
Sounds like Goose Eye on the 12th for a day hike is the plan.
MEB - I took a quick look at the map and a loop does look possible which is always a plus.
We'll be bring our two dogs...we'd be happy to let anybody ride with us but you might end up with either a beagle or a welsh...
