Baxter State Park in the Winter

Thanks TJ. Do I really need the xc-skis? I was just going to snowshoe in with my pack. I know skis would be faster, but I would prefer to minimize equipment. Have a head lamp, thermometer, and will print out a wind chill chart. We're following the Baxter State Park Winter Use Guide. I sure hope...

Latitude & Longitude for Mt Success Plane Wreck

Thanks to everybody who sent messages. I found it relatively easily with all the directions. Head south on the AT. Look for a fork, one with a cairn to left. Follow the herd path to the AT corridor. Head right. Can't miss it.

    Can anyone identify this insect?

I'm a software engineer, not an entomologist, so apologies if this is common. I've hiked plenty in Northern New England and never seen another of its kind. https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/5rnyE3_g5c7gicnJ9NtzMNzDrZ5McF6Z_SeY52Hc4vk?feat=directlink
