Barb & dms get the Blues (Three of them)

The Blues Eric, as always, it was a pleasure to hike with you. These are really nice little peaks, well worth the effort. I love visiting these under the radar locations. Moose pond was worth the effort itself. Maybe a bit more hobblebush than I expected, but it was still a great off trail day!

favorite/most convenient town in the Whites ?

Livermore doesn't have much in the way of amenities, but it has plenty of solitude, some nice peaks, and not much traffic. :o)

Houston, Roaring Brook, Benson (near KI, Maine)

Jim, as usual, an interesting report on some "lesser known" ME peaks. Keep up the good work! BTW is the gate open and free from the Greenville side as well?

For Maine prominence peakbaggers only - Mount Louise

I love finding John's tiny long lasting pill bottle registers on these remote peaks. It's amazing how many of them still survive.

Multi register peak Jim, an interesting report as usual! I've heard there may be as many as 5 registers on JM, you could have made it 6! :) This is one of the ME 200H I still need, so if you want to go back up let me know. :) Misery loves company. Dennis

    VT 200 H ventures

Kevin, it truly is a strange sight, they are all disappearing. And they are all passenger cars, not off road type vehicles.

    VT 200 H ventures

Saturday d ritter and I headed over to VT for some wacks to a few 200 H peaks. First on our agenda was Rochester Mtn. Our approach was from the height of land at Rochester Gap. After working our way through the briar filled cut area at the base of the ridge we hit upon an old atv track the...

    dRitter NH 200H

This past Friday I was lucky to join Damon, Jim C., and Carl C. on Howe peak for Damon's finish of the NH 200H. We approached via the Shelburne Trail, then a bushwack along the old abandoned southerly end of the Kenduskeak Trail. We hit snow at about 2000', maybe 2-3" all the way to the summit...

    NE Paugus

A nice NH300H peak. A reasonably straight forward wack off the Bolles Trail. Some open moss covered ledges at the top offer great views of Chocura, Moats and Kearsarge.

    NH 200 H Finish

PB, Nate in his inimitable style, wrote a 2.5 page entry! I don't recall seeing your signature either before or after Nate's novella. The register is about 30-40 feet off the swath. We actually found a nice route on the Canadian side to avoid the steep dropoff just before the peak. The swath...

    NH 200 H Finish

On a spectacular day in Pittsburg, I was fortunate to finish the NH 200 H with great companions, great weather, and some truly great views. I want to thank Damon and Al for slowing their normal pace so that I could stay with them. We planned on two peaks, hoped for 3, but ended up getting all 4...

An interesting take on Rescues and Searches

Substitute hiker for bushwacker and then you have it right. :)
