  • Great! I'd like to read that book at some point, too.

Sounds like you have some fun plans ahead!! I wish you the best with those.
Hey there, Scott. Haven't talked to you in awhile. I hope you're doing well, and getting already for this winter season.

    Have a wonderful day!
OK, our plans are skewered by the weather and some stuff going on at home. We're not heading up tonight as planned, and may not hike tomorrow. Sunday night is looking doubtful. Will you be on the Osseo Trail most of the day Sunday? We may come looking for you.

Ok, it's looking like a rain out weekend. We could probably still do Sunday night, but how about this. We were talking about getting together at Tim and Val's Friday night and doing a day hike Saturday. What's your plans again? Maybe you could come by Friday night, or if you're on Osseo Saturday maybe we could come get you guys, take you down to Lincoln and bring you back, or something of that nature. Still waiting for Val to email again.

Not much in the way of foliage up there yet. The birches are starting to turn a little, but nothing else really. Low swampy areas have some good color now. It's comin' though!

It's too bad you had a less than A-1 experience at that CG. We've always been happy there. I just hate when people have a less than stellar experience in the mountains. : )

We had a great trip to Unknown Pond with Tim and Val. The Truman's had suggested it because they need Cabot for their list, then didn't wind up going. Thanks Trumans! We climbed The Horn and The Bulge and skipped Cabot. Spent about and hour on The Horn. One of my favorite views! Trip report soon.

Tentative plan is to backpack to Baldface Shelter 10/3-4. You are welcome to join us! Will catch you at some point that week anyway.

You should have some fine trips as well. I keep standing you up. You're gonna' quit askin'. Will definitely catch you on Osseo in October.

    Hey
I jsut signed up for Wildcat D for the Flags on the 48. I plan on bringing the stars and stripes as well as the Bunker Hill flag aka flag of New England aka Continental flag. Red field white canton with a pine tree. (no cross of St. George) as well as the Flag of the Vermont Republic aka Green Mountain boys flag aka the real Bennington Flag, green field, blue with thirteen white stars. Bring in some history1
We were surprised to find flush toilets at Sugarloaf 1. They weren't there last year. I'm not sure about S2, but if they say they are then they probably are. Flush is all, though. No sinks.

OK! Now this might actually work. We are off that week and want to do a backpack and several hikes. Owl's Head is on the drawing board for an overnight, we'll see!

Thank you! I am most excited, as the Castle trail is my favorite in all of the Whites (as I'm sure I've mentioned multiple times on the board :)).
The avatar is Little Haystack - in the pouring rain :) Its my oldest daughter up there earlier this summer.
CONGRATULATIONS!!!! That's great news, glad to hear it. I look forward to reading the trip report!!
Scott, I saw that it was up but just haven't had time to read it. I like to read your reports with no interruption or haste! Will get some time later tonight, (I hope!)

    KDT
Oh, ok. I thought your final hike was going to be period clothing. Well I still hope you have an awesome time!! I hope the climb is a blast!
Oh awesome! You're finishing soon! I can't wait to read the report. I hope you have excellent weather, and that your period clothing keeps you dry and comfortable if it is iffy weather. I wish you the best of luck!
