If anyone is curious as to the answer to this,,, yes, it is still flooded. The good news is there is a relatively new trail (nicely cut and blazed)that allows you to circumvent the flooded area.

Thank you both for responding so quickly. Shortly after posting this I received a response from GMC (coincidence ;) ). They report the completion of the bridge is on schedule and anticipate it being completed and open over Labor Day weekend. Thanks again.

Trail was very muddy due to inordinate amount of rain this season. Beaver have dammed up Bourne Brook between Bourne Pond and William B Douglas shelter and about a tenth of a mile of the trail is under water. A (painful) bushwhack through a pine grove is necessary in order to get around this.
