    Mt. Wolf 3500' & Blue Ridge N. 3009'

Sat. March 7, seven of us climbed these 2 peaks via the Kinsman Ridge trail starting out at Kinsman Notch. Blustery at the start, it warmed up by noon and the snow turned to mashed potatoes. AT was hard to follow in places because of the depth of the snow and paucity of blazes. Here are some...

Garfield Ridge East and West Peaks

no luck, but the snow was within a foot or so of the bottle on East, so maybe we just didn't see it, if there is one there. There was a glass jar there a month ago when Dr. D, Anita, and I were there. Undoubtedly it's under the snow now. Someone recently said on a different forum.."what a...

    N. & S. Baldface

:DThis was a listed hike for those who have done all of the NEHH, etc. and are looking for new adventures. Hikerdoc has been leading NHHH winter peaks for the last several years and is now nearing completion of his second round. Ten people showed up at the trailhead; nine to hike and one to...

Congrats to you guys. Glad you made it out with so few complications. I don't like close calls anymore but they do make for the best stories.;)

    NEng 3k Finishers

NE 3K's finishers Jim Crawford is the man who is keeping the list. Since he made this, there have been 3 more finishers: Markie Mark, Onestep, and another guy whose name I forget. They finished on Moat in the fall. NEng 3k Finishers There seems to be some speculation as to who has finished...

A Bridge to Nowhere? How about No Bridges to Anywhere! (Gale River Trail 12/28-29/08)

Thanks for the report. Due to which, I think I will postpone my planned trip tomorrow to Garfield Ridge East peak until we get some more snow, the water levels subside, and colder temps make the stream crossings more reliable.:(

    Welcome in winter with clough

The way up N-S road gains you more elevation on the road but the ridge is very thick. The Tunnel Brook way is open woods on the bw but is more elevation gain. The first time I did this on snowshoes I did what you did and went to the height of land on N-S road and followed the ridge because I had...

    Welcome in winter with clough

:DThis was a book bushwack to Mt. Clough 3561' on the first day of winter, Dec. 21. Al & I were co-leaders but in fact there were 4 AMC winter leaders on the trip. Although 10 had signed up, only 7 showed up at the parking lot for Glencliff trail because of the weather. We were suited and...

Liberty & Flume, Liberty Spr., FRT, Flume Slide, 12/11/2008

Liberty Flume Loop Thanks for the trip report and photos. Great shots of mountain tops out of the clouds. Those shots going down Flume look way scarey. A slip there would send you on a long painful trip. I once led an AMC trip up the Flume in very deep snow. It took us about 5 hours to get...

North Kinsman via Mt. Kinsman trail

This a late trip report because we did this trip Friday 28 but took a less traveled route so it might interest someone. The trailhead is a little tricky to find because the stone pillars and chain are hard to see going south from Franconia but it is right where the guidebook says it should be...

    Sandwich, anyone? (12/6)

Sandwich Mountain My wife and I did Drakes up and Sandwich down last Sunday. We used Stabilicers almost the entire trip. Drakes Br. was high which is why we went up D.B. trail and down S.M. trail. At the crossing we bushwacked toward the road and crossed at a wide part, getting out feet in...
