  • I see on your "up next" you're hitting up the Santas. May I ask when you're planning these? I have some plans of my own for knocking 'em off the list.
hope you can get out of the sewards for a soda....I hear those black flies are terrriable this time of year there!! :)
Ah, ok then. I did the Sewards last winter, so I won't be in there then. I'll either be in the Colvin range or the Dix range that weekend. I wish you well on your trip! :D
Hi Jay, I followed your "Winter 08/09" thread on ADKHP for awhile, did you ever finalize plans for this winter in Jan or Feb? I'd love to tag along if it's some I need, and it's okay with you. Have a great weekend!
    Dear Jay,
Had the surgery yesterday. The tear was pretty bad in the posterior portion of the meniscus. He also found another tear in the lateral meniscus. Hurts alot today. By the way, the fisula was actually a good thing. I have regained much of the feeling in my lip since the fusula allowed me to get much of the crap/edema out.

I spoke to my manager today about some time off in Feb and she said we can definitely work something out. :) Hey, I got a room at the Ark for the winter gathering, are you going?? I have room in my room. :)
Hey Jay, guess I didn't tell you, I am back to work. Working for the Red Cross. :) So, I can only play on weekends again, but it sure was a great summer!!!
I like your geological speculation re: the lakes. sounds good to me. I definitely miss the adk lakes. and your description of anthony's nose on the other thread brings back memories of a dozen grade school field trips!
Thanks for the invite Jay, but I think I am going to hang in PA this weekend. What are you doing next weekend?

    Cindy
    dear Jay,

My accident recovery is a continuing saga, you'll be sorry you asked. About 2 weeks ago I had a fistula open in my chin and I had a bunch of gravel/sand ooze out of my chin over the course of 2 days. I was going to use a photo of it as my avatar, but certain folks might object. I still have numbness in my chin and lower lip but some of that has resolved in the past two weeks. I radiographed my lip and found some more gravel so presumably I will have another episode of a fistula in the coming weeks.

I also have a "monster" (the orthopedist's term) tear in the medial meniscus of my right knee so I am having surgery this Thursday. He seems to think I will do nicely.

I hope all is well with you, and keep your chin off the pavement.

    Sincerely,
    John
    hey jay h

It's getting cold out there! Winter is here- at least for the next day or so. I have not been getting out much, but I am hopeful that I can do something in like a week-

How did your trip go to th western cats. I did a backpack there once and had a nice time. It was a perfect fall weekend, and the 3 of us saw hardly another person all weekend. We camped in an old Pine plantation (at large style) and found shards of some old iron equipment used for either mining or farming.

Say- whtas the weirdest thing you you have ever found in the woods?

    The most useful thing?
can you write a tr for 7summits finish?
i dont even know the names of any of the trails.
    thanks
Cats? I dont think so! not going to waste my gas driving there! lol
Just kidding. Ill definately have to check those 'cats out some time. ill need some suggestions though.
Hi Jay- Good to hear from you! Funny- I was just this morning reading through the Trip reports for the devils path dayhikes- not sure why.. Have to get back there when I have time and finish that up. Talk to you soon
