Chandler Brook Wamsutta Loop In Section Hiker

This was already answered, but I've done Wamsutta/Chandler twice, both when camping in the GG. Once in '92 (!!) and the second time 2005ish. No issues with the short amount of time on the Auto Road as I recall. CB was definitely rough--rougher than I had remembered. It was certainly doable, but...

Lost hiker Dry River Trail area

According to the Facebook post, his tent was found at the junction of the Dry River and Mt. Clinton trails. The post also said he was the Ocean City (NJ) Sierra Club chapter president.

    AMC selling Joy St. HQ

I've been in the office upstairs (job interview), and they are horribly cramped and very shabby. I recall one tiny office you could barely get two people into. It is quite overdue.

Moosilauke Ravine Lodge replacement - project approved

It would be interesting to see the demolition--interesting and certainly sad. Many great memories there. But it is time. I look forward to seeing the new building.

    The twenty most dangerous hikes.

I found Angle's Landing pretty terrifying due to all the people on it. Pretty hard to pass at certain sections. I bailed before the end. We're headed to China in a couple of weeks and Hua Shan is on our list of places to visit. But I think we'll be avoiding the plank walkways!

For those with torn knee meniscus

I remember running down the Osgood trail in my 20s. Sigh.

    Your NE67 Finish

Finished my 67 in 2004 on Old Speck with Metsky, who sweetly surprised me with a split of Champagne. It was a beautiful day with terrific views. Great place to end, but there are so many good ones to choose from. I think my favorites are the Bigelows and Hamlin peak. The views from Hamlin are...

    Dizziness While Descending - WTF?!

Hi Bob, I'm no doctor, but I am a health writer and editor, so I am intrigued. I can think of a couple of things. I wouldn't be surprised if you had a bit of dehydration -- it can happen on hot strenuous days, even when you drink a lot of water. Your blood pressure may have dropped a bit...

More Mellow Hikes in the Whites

LOL. Many, many, many, many times. It's a favorite spot. :D But thanks!

If needed, antibiotics work wonders, but you have to be alive for them to work!

    Six Husbands vs Sphinx

I've done that loop twice, and definitely prefer up 6H and down Sphinx. IMO there is a lot more exposure (or it feels like it) on 6H, which as others have mentioned, would give me pause coming down it. I personally think Sphinx is a fun scramble down, but that's just me. (or was me 15 years ago)...

More Mellow Hikes in the Whites

Re: hip flexor. Thanks--I injured it trying to ramp up my running last Spring--this after working with a personal trainer for 7 months, so I was already in decent shape, and it's never quite gone away. I had PT last summer (ran out before I was totally healed), tried to keep up with the...

More Mellow Hikes in the Whites

Awesome--thanks all! Some great suggestions. Yeah peakbagger, I've been away from the mountains for a bit, and it's time to change that!

More Mellow Hikes in the Whites

Great suggestions--through Zealand notch would be lovely. Apologies for not looking at my maps first--I'm being lazy and soliciting opinions. :) Thanks for the heads up on Nancy/Norcross. I guess that will stay on the list. I may stay at Dolly Copp--thoughts on anything farther north?
