  • Yes, Alex and I both loved sliding down Liberty Springs Trail on the seat of our pants! Glad you had a similar, enjoyable experience.
Hi Steve, Great night last night. Liz enjoyed seeing everyone again. Makes her feel like she's still part of things. Are you still up for Liberty on Sunday? The plan is to meet at 8am at the basin parking lot on the northbound side of 93. Here is my cell in case you need it 978-621-9934.
...you're absolutely right -- I left out the Rocket21 reference.

I've since gone back and put it in...thanks for catching this!
Steve -- thanks for the square. I have two other folks interested in snowshoeing the Elwell (I don't know either of them), so I'll be arranging something fairly soon. When can you go?
Sounds like a great plan. I'm not sure Sage is ready for anything in winter conditions, except for perhaps Bald Mountain. We could always do that. Or, Alex wants to knock off a few winter 4Ks this year, perhaps we could meet you along the way on one of those.
Thanks for your compliments, FH --I hope we get to meet you and Tuck again, and we have yet to see Polly! Must figure out a time where we can run into the three of you!
Thank you so much, Steve. I hope we can get together for a hike soon - can't wait to meet Polly! :)
    You're most certainly welcome.

And, regarding Jeremy, it's my goal to reference him in some way, shape or form in just about every trip report I do from now on...you've inspired me.
Yo, Steve...thanks for the green seal o' approval. Hope your busy month winds down a bit and you can get back out on the trails. I can bug you about coming along on future Elwell hikes (definitely some snowshoe treks planned).
    hey steve
rhanks for the greenie for sure..some good days this week..washington etc was quite a show for sure..sorry to have missed elwell..rope? no one told me about any stinkin rope...that looked like an interesting scramble
Hi Steve. Thanks for the green square and your positive comments regarding the Crawford Notch wanderings. Both are very much appreciated.
Thanks for the green square! We had a great time as always with Tuckerman! I hope you don't mind that I think I must have dognapped him for at least a mile! It was a great day, wasn't it? So comforting to know that we can all hike together and look out for eachother's dogs as if they were our own.
    Happy Trails!
Hey Steve..thanks for the greenie and hope to join up again soon..Lower section of the Mount Kinsman Trail not blazed though well cleared and constructed and quite easy to follow..There was some scattered flagging around
    Hi FH,

The KRT with a 4 year old -- I'd ask if the kid is used to hiking something that steep. Alex at 4 could not have handled it, and the two of us together barely managed it when she was 5. The KRT from the tram parking lot is a horribly steep, relentless slog. Alex and I were not fond of it At All. If and only if they are willing to carry their child when/if she tires would I say go for it. If they are expecting her to do the whole thing on her own, then they all might be in for a very grumpy and sloooow ascent (if they make it at all). It's a difficult trail, not one of the "easier" ones by any stretch of the imagination. In retrospect, I wish I had held off on the trail til Alex was a few months older and more experienced. It was the fourth one we did -- and did I mention we weren't fond of it? lol
