I see piles of Moose droppings on Mt. Mansfield all the time above 3,500-4,000ft. TONS of it along ridges when bushwhacking.
Someone told me they come up to higher elevation to poop, true???
Good point on the wattage.
Good idea to buy a couple batteries. Charge em up before you head out so you have a full battery while the other is charging.
Bringing along extra storage space shouldn't be an issue as chips are small and light weight anyway. I'd be more concerned with recharging the battery!

I live near these spots and have hiked them many times! I have had a great time bushwhacking around and exploring back there. In the winter I like to snowshoe out on colchester pond while the wind is howling!
I've seen to BIG mother beavers back there! =)
I recently hiked up the rock slide and connected the Old Bear Pond trail. I spend a lot of my time bushwhacking and searching out old, lost trails. There are a number of them on Mansfield.
