  • Adam, me climbing Allen again I don't think so! I have been about six times in winter as when I was a member of the East River Club we used to spend two weekends every winter at the main camp climbing Allen, Cheney Cobble and the North River Range! And no I am not participating in the Feb. 20 gathering but I will be attending the Forty-Sixers winter gathering at the end of March, will you be there as well?
I have yet to be on Colden for winter yet. I am trying to get all the hard ones out of the way first. Are you up for Aleen March 6th? That is where I am headed. Feb 20 I will keep it easy and climb Esther and Whiteface so we can be back early for the gathering. Will you be coming to that? I wish I could hike mid week and be close like you! Maybe when I retire in 20 years :)
Conditions were great but as always it was much colder on summit: 4F! Much more snow than on the Colvin Range that is for sure.

What are you climbing this week?
Great minds think alike..Good to see you again! Hope you had a safe trip down and out!
Thanks for the additional information. Whether it was Pierre's track or Inge's, I stumble on as I climb it was much appreciated.

I did notice the track going down the in the other direction, started to follow it but turned around. The Garmin topo software places the summit in the other direction from the blue disc. I tried working my way over but the depth of the spruce traps and blow down changed my mind. I have some questions regarding the exactness of the Garmin topo software. It is not the first time the summit symbol seems out of location.

Ron, no it was the previous Saturday 4.5 hours work of Pierre Oncoman, he tried to climb little Santa from TS ridge but turned back quikcly it was too hard and went for Henderson. Yesterday he was going for Henderson West as her is working on the 222 list!
Then Inge went this week broke a different route in 2 hours but went down in 20 minutes via Pierre's route.

Bill, it was great to see you on LWJ, the peaks are magnificent at higher altitude this year.

    Tom,

Thanks for the green square. Regards to Laurie.

    Christine
From your mention of the Henderson mt. in your trip report of Couch, I would guess it was your group's track I stumble upon 1/23, as I climbed Henderson.

"We won't have time to climb anymore..." Well you aren't in any social groups on here now, so one little Adirondack Outdoors couldn't hurt...could it? :D
"And btw, there's a new social group you might like!" Not another one!!! We won't have time to climb anymore...
