Helmet use lowers the injury/fatality rate in alpine skiing. I've never heard of anyone dying due to postholing.

I don't think so. Just a list of the peaks and the date you climbed them.

I agree. My hunch is most of the postholing is done by younger hikers who don't have the disposable income to lay down $250 on a pair of decent snowshoes.
