Such ambitious plans. I'm fascinated by all the different plans everyone has put forth. Some of you have some great goals. Mine plans are much simpler. I just want to get out and hike a few times. I managed 0 trail time in 2008, so I'm jonesing for the mountains.

You may laugh, but Stan, Eric, and I hiked Pine Mountain on the last day of Gathering 4.0. I ran into some friends I hadn't seen since college at the top. It's an easy hike, but it's a nice one and was perfect for a quick hike after a big breakfast and before the drive home. :) Anyway...

Black flies were out in force during Wednesday's warm weather in the Rochester/Dover, NH area. I'm sure they'll be out everywhere the next time the temperatures top 70. They typically start to appear at lower elevations in May and linger in higher elevations on into late June and July.
