It happened to me last month, my son & I were on top of Jackson and we were both shocked at how agressive those birds are. Didn't know what kind of birds they were, but I know now. :D

MAD RIVER You can also use muslin bags, these bags work great for boiling hops or grains when making beer and they withstand high temps. Just knot the top to seal. They are inexpensive about $1 each.

Purgatory Chasm is a great place :cool: to hang out for the day. I also grew up in central Mass (Uxbridge) and 40 years ago we used to ride our bikes out to the chasm to explore and our imaginations would run wild. Anyway as I think back those times were great.

I was thinking the same thing this morning. I am hiking to Eisenhower, Pierce and Jackson tomorrow. Collapse them and toss them in my pack
