    The Lake Placid Brewery is a good place. As is the Noonmark Diner in Keene Valley. A great (new) restaurant in Lake Placid is Freestyle. Right on Main Street. But you might want to shower before going there after a hike.

    I've stayed at Cobble Mountain Lodge a bunch of times. And I'm actually staying there this weekend. The guy who runs it is a real flake. "Forgot" our reservations about 3 times. But it's the best value in town and all of the cabins have been remodeled (very tastefully I might add)...

    Yeah, that's what I thought, doing it W to E would be A LOT easier. But some of you guys are scaring me by saying that's it's still a very tough hike to New Russia.

    Thanks Beverly! Wow, looking at a map you would think there are virtually no uphills from Rocky to New Russia. I though that after a pretty tough climb to Giant and RPR, it would be smooth sailing to the road. Guess not huh? And I meant next weakend. So I will be there for Labor Day. :p
