Howdy. I've always done Moriah from Carter Moriah trail and I don't recall doing Stony Brook on the down hill. The book says it's a gradual slope...would it be doable on bc skis or a sliding snowshoe ? I'm considering doing Moriah via Carter Moria on the way up and then Stony Brook Down.

Can anyone comment on what the ascent to Katahdin via Abol Trail is like in the winter? I have always done winter treks from Chimney Pond. I hiked up Katahdin via Abol 20 + years ago so I have an idea of the steepness but I was wondering what it is like on winter ascent?

Howdy. Is it allowed to ride a bike on the Lincoln Woods road? I have only skied the road in the winter and it looks nice and flat. I'm not sure how rugged it is without the snow? Can it be biked without using a mountain bike ?
