Public hearing on Randolph Ski Glades this evening

It is a Town Forest. Many Town Forests charge residents and non-residents for use. Fees produce revenues that produce income for trail maintenance and patrolling. Randolph use to be a quiet little town on the hill but as already mentioned the cat is out of the bag whether locals like it or not...

    Acadia Best day hikes

Here is a link to present closures. Beehive not on the list. The list also shows closures not only on trails but roads and carriage roads. As of this notice carriage trails were limited to pedestrians and bikes not allowed due to Spring Thaw. https://www.nps.gov/acad/planyourvisit/conditions.htm

    Acadia Best day hikes

Please scroll down regarding pets. There are exceptions. Especially note ladder trails like Precipice and Beehive. https://www.nps.gov/acad/planyourvisit/faqs.htm#:~:text=Pets%20must%20be%20leashed%20and,pets%20to%20ranger%2Dled%20activities. By the way. I love crowds. Especially when Bobby and...

Public hearing on Randolph Ski Glades this evening

Many spot-on comments. There have been many upsides to the exploitation of BC Skiing but there are certainly downsides obvious from this present situation. Hopefully something can be worked out. Limiting parking to the developed lot IMO would go a long way to achieve a more acquiescent...

Public hearing on Randolph Ski Glades this evening

Thank you for posting this and appreciate your attendance and information now and going forward. This is certainly an unfortunate and unacceptable situation. I would be interested on what was agreed upon initially between the powers at be and GBA to begin with as far as what and who would manage...

Sawyer River Rd will be closed to vehicles for 2024 until further notice

Thank you for the recon. Sufficient to say that monitoring water levels before heading in there an expecting to cross would be prudent.

    A Double Whammy

Bring your ear plugs. Could get a little noisy hiking a long The Southern Appalachian Trail. Two different varieties of broods within the Cicada family are hatching this year at the same time since the last occurrence in 1803. Fortunately it looks like only one variety in the south. Also...

Mother Nature always wins. Amazing to think there was a Railroad back up in there during the logging days of Livermore.

Interesting you are the second member here comparing Bobby, Trey and the rest of the boys to an eclipse. Even if there is gridlock during the eclipse and you are directly in the path you have three and a half minutes to take it all in. Whereas with The Dead and Phish you have three and a half...

If Accuweather is correct the long range forecast is looking pretty good for submarine racing in northern Vermont before during and after April 8th. Not to mention high wader cow tipping. Time will tell.
