    What's the story these days with Allen? Crossing Hudson? Lake Jimmy? Will I be able to do it in boots/gaiters or should I carry crocs? How's the rest of the route up? Can you refill water bottles along the way, including up Allen side trail?

    Haystack Road - When does it open for camping?

    I'm wondering if anyone remembers approximately when in the spring Haystack Road typically opens for trailhead access and camping? I tried the Forest Service site - http://www.fs.fed.us/r9/forests/white_mountain/recreation/roads_status.php - but that only lists what is opened now.
