Madison to Monroe on 3-17-12 for 2 W48 finishes

Hey - congratulations Hui Yeng! Reading all the trip reports today has made me quite homesick for the old gang and our white mountain shenanigans. Would have been fun to be along for the trip. Dig the blue pants, Kim. R

Lost my windshirt - can anyone suggest a replacement?

Two thumbs up for this jacket - it's probably my favorite piece of kit. I think it would be a little too fragile for bushwhacking, though (we don't have to worry about that too much over here!). Also, no pit zips and no hand pockets, which keeps the weight down but reduces the comfort. Rebecca

    2011 Adirondack BBQ and Gathering

I've had to change my travel plans and won't be able to attend this gathering, which is very disappointing. Hope you all have a great time! Rebecca

    7 summits with Frodo 4/30/2011

Ummm...nice pants (err, trousers, err, wait, actually they are pants) Mats. Looks like a fun big day out, despite the crap snow. But no more taking Cruddy out on big hikes. I need to be able to keep up with him when he comes over to hit the mtns with me!

    Tecumseh solo 3/26/2010

One time, on Tecumseh, I saw Frodo too! He must go there all the time. Job well done, Mats. Way to be brave. I didn't know about the lost disco ball. Let's see...there's that, the Darth Vader helmet, the SPOT locator, a coupla dozen empty mini kegs...

    Finally, SnowCup

Sounds like an awesome trip with some of the most fun people I know. The hiking sounds like a good time, but I'm mostly jealous of all the food you consumed. Mmmm...MEB's homemade sauce. Congrats Arm! Donna, what will you do when you no longer have a Scar Ridge, errr Coe, errrr Vose Spur...

Boston Beer Night - Tues Oct 19

I'll be back in town for a few days and thought it would be fun to try to get some VFTT-ers out for a beer night. This place has worked well for a couple of past events. Close to public transportation and plenty of parking available behind the building. I'll plan to be there around 6pm...

    French Alps! GR5/GR55

Based on my limited experience, reservations are possible, and encouraged. My own general rule of thumb is to reserve a place where you think there's a risk you won't get a spot, or the cost of not doing so would be high (no other options around). Weekends, particularly Saturdays, seem to be...

    French Alps! GR5/GR55

Ryan and I recently spent two weeks hiking in the French Alps (with a bit of Switzerland thrown in for good measure) along a portion of the Grande Randonnée #5 (GR5). The route we followed began in St. Gingolph, on the shores of Lake Geneva, and continued south to the small French city of...

    Lei Wang did it!

Congrats! That's fantastic! I have been following her blog, but it's been a while since the last update and I wasn't sure what had happened since she seemed to be having health issues. Can't wait to hear the rest of the story! Rebecca

    Nepal Trip

I went about 3 years ago inthe fall to the Annapurna Sancutary and was part of an organized trip through Kumuka (www.kumuka.com). Their rates were incredibly reasonable compared to most established tour companies, and I thought they did a good job. We ended up being just two of us walking, with...

    Tecumser via Dickey, 4/11/10

nice one! Sounds like this was a fun day out. However, I'm thinking that the mysterious man in black there didn't get the memo about what to wear for a bushwhack. Everyone knows real whackers wear wool trousers... Miss you guys! Rebecca
