    Camels Hump via Burroughs loop

Up Burroughs, down Forest City. Trail completely frozen except in a few small areas. Barebooted to LT junction. Could have used stabilicers on the way up but chose to put them on for summit and descent. Small amount of snow on the less traveled Forest City trail. Trail frozen and fast overall.

    Allen Attempt 1/28

No dry crossing for Hudson or Opalescent. Walked barefoot across Hudson but Opalescent was a fast moving ice torrent. Looked very dangerous at best. A few ice jams didn't seem safe for crossing. Lots of water.

    Esther/Whiteface

From the atmospheric science center. Minimal snow down low, just a dusting in spots. Increased to a couple inches by the top. Warm temps and rain turned much of it into slush by the return trip. Herdpath to Esther no problem and trail overall no problem at all. Microspikes would be helpful...

I had hiked a bunch of peaks through youth and through college but when I "started" the 46 I started over and rehiked all those I had done previously. It was a personal decision, much like writing after each hike in the length that I did. I enjoyed my correspondent and looked forward to the...

    Kaaterskill High Peak 2/7/09

Did Kaaterskill High Peak from Platte Clove. Snowmobile trail well packed by snow machines all the way to the cairn for the turn off. Trail was very deep and very crusty but now well broken to summit and to Hurricane Ledge. We did get a little disoriented leaving the summit for the ledge so...

    Windham High Peak 11/29

Approached from 23. Light dusting of snow low, 4+ inches up top. Barebooted on packed snow. Saw 5 hunters & heard plenty of shots in distance. No need for snowshoes or traction but carried both. Stopped at cave mtn brewing after hike, now open!!

Porter/Cascade from Marcy Airfield, Noonmark from AMR 5/17-18/08

5/17 Porter and Cascasde 5/18 Noonmark Took route from Marcy Airfield and that hasn't seen much traffic but its relatively clear and pretty dry. A few areas of running water, which for all I know may always be running water as it did look like a stream. Views on this trail were great! Very...

That is good news! I have an old windows laptop under my desk that is strictly still around for use with my Garmin. I wonder if they will follow up with the NP series, etc?
