No change from the previous report. Zero snow to about 2,200' and 3-4" up high with a booted track. Only a couple patches of ice, nothing that isn't easily avoided.

Booted track in 3-4 inches of snow, no difficulties.

Easy walking in snow up to 4 inches deep. No real trouble spots anywhere other than occasional icy spots.

Snow only 3-4 inches deep up high and easy walking, but very icy in spots on the steep section along the stream near the bottom. Traction devices were not need for the ascent, but may have been worth the trouble to put on for a couple of short sections on the descent even though I did not use them.

Easy hiking to the summit of Stissing Mountain with only spotty ice along initial ascent to ridgeline and in a few spots on the ridgeline. Snow 2-3 inches deep.

Hiked up Vly and Bearpen from the north, via the old road to the col between the two. Little snow down low and only 3-4 inches up high with spots up to twice that. A bit slick in spots but no traction devices necessary for ascent. Some people may find them worthwhile for the descent from the col...
