Do you know if the established campsites in this region have tent platforms or tent sites on the ground? I've been thinking about backpacking this section of the AT, and I want to know if I need to prepare for pitching a non-freestanding tent on platforms every night like in WMNF.

It was fine when I was there on March 8. A little tough to find the spur off the long trail from the cabin to the summit, since it's not well marked, and there are confusing tracks left by skiiers and snowboarders.

I tried butt sliding Lincoln Gap Road on Monday, and I have to say it desperately needs a sled. Butt-sliding without one was a total failure.
