    It’s looking good here, too, but that Wed-Fri stretch will definitely mean trouble for bare-booters. I’m going up it this afternoon to see what trail conditions are like. High temps are forecast to be below freezing all next week so at least the roads shouldn’t be a big mess.

    If anyone is planning to view from mountains around Jackman, take heed and bring snowshoes. It’ll almost certainly change by next week, but there’s still quite a bit of snow up there from last weekend’s storm and the stuff that was there before.

    Thursday a log truck headed south on 201 lost the road in a whiteout, drove right into a pond in The Forks, and rolled on its side. The logs went forward and took the cab off the truck. The 35 y/o driver was eventually found underneath the logs.

    Well the logging road out to Boundary Bald Mountain is gated now, so instead of driving 4.5 miles to the trailhead to snowshoe I guess I’ll park by the gate and just hike on the road until I feel like turning around. Looks like a good time to heat-mold a new pair of insoles for my Lowas.
