    Giant (6/3/11)

    From route 73, took Zander Scott trail up. Trail is in very good condition. Just a couple of small blowdown in first mile. Very dry with just minor mud in a few places. No bugs due to stiff wind.

    Date of Hike: 5/16/10 Trail Conditions: Trail is in good shape ... mostly dry. Above 4000 ft, there are some small patches of packed snow left along with mud ... no big deal. Comments: Amazingly, there were no bugs out today.

    Date of Hike: 3/27/09 Trail Conditions: Trail is mostly clear with little to no blowdown. No snow at all until recon rock (~3000 ft). Then conditions varied from bare spots to 12+ inches of packed snow. Some icy spots but not terrible. Used stabilicers for the descent.

    Trail is mostly dry and in good shape. Some minor mud and wet spots in flat areas near the top. I wore trail shoes/sneaks which were fine. Bugs were non-existent due to the 20+ mph wind. Only snow I saw was near the summit and off the trail. A great day for a mid-week hike.
