    Did anyone hear about a rescue on Chocorua today 2/9? Driving home from doing Pierce today, south on 16 it looked like a helicopter hovering over the summit around 2 pm.

    Kearsarge North 3/1/14

    Parking lot plowed but icy. Trail hard packed- carried shoes, micros & hillsounds up and down, barebooted the whole trip, many people in microspikes. Trail in great shape, minor spots of ice, a few avoidable postholes on the ledges. Fantastic views from the tower, great day on the trail.

    Pierce 4/13

    Trail still snow packed, with a couple fresh inches from Friday night. Able to bare boot up and down, although many folks wearing snowshoes, the hard pack was solid, might get soft as weather changes, no sign of any postholing yet.     Franconia Ridge Research experiment?

    Had a beautiful hike Saturday on the ridge. As we got near Little Haystack we encounterd a number of glass panels anchored in the dispensia, the trail stewards guessed that it was some type of research project. Anyone know anything more? Thanks.
