Might have spelled it wrong. I took out an AMC guide book about paddling some of it. Can anyone offer some advise or experience? Chip were you on this 10 plus years ago? Saw a write up on google that made me think of some vftt members on it around 2002? Friend told me to stick to the part that the NFCT goes through. Just getting interested in it for next August (late)..thx

These links will be helpful, too. The entire NFCT site is useful but this links you to the Allagash section: http://www.northernforestcanoetrail.org/tripplanner/index.cfm?action=loadSection&sectionID=12

This is the official site of the Allagash Wilderness Waterway: hhttp://www.maine.gov/cgi-bin/online/doc/parksearch/search_name.pl?state_park=2&historic_site=&public_reserved_land=&shared_use_trails=&option=searchttp://

AMC's River Guide: Maine has a good description of the river.

Early in the season you'll most likely have much higher water and perhaps rapids you'd rather avoid. Later in the season it is most apt to be low water and boney. Spider Solo did the entire trip and may have written a report which a search would uncover.

Thanks guys...will see what happens over the next 6-9 months. Would really like to go on some type of 7-10 day journey. will keep you updated. Can only do last few weeks of August since my youngest will be off to college. I understand about the water levels, thanks again.
