Has anyone been up to Black Mountain Cabin lately? If so, can you give me an idea of trail conditions up to the cabin? What about the status of the water source? We're heading up next weekend and plan on pulling a sled up with some provisions, but I have a feeling it might be a little crusty with the recent conditions.

Thanks much!

If you are talking about Black Mountain on Lake George, that cabin is shot. It is still there but I would only stay in it in a weather emergency. There are several well maintained lean too's near the ponds about 2 miles down from the mountain top. At the top there are no clear water sources. The trail leading up often has water on it, until the last third. But like i said, the ponds below are your best bet for water.

I'm actually talking about the one in Jackson NH. Thanks for the info on the other one though, for future reference.
