The trail was hard packed granular with icey and muddy spots and exposed rock. It could be barebooted if you went off the trail in the icey spots. We met about a dozen people. most were in crampons. I used my MSR's up and crampons on the way down. the trail is really hard and a there was very little chance you would posthole. It was windy and snowing on top which is not what the weather man predicted. I find that hard to believe. So there was no veiw. Overall a good hike, Kevin got Porter for his goal of 46. Only 39 more to go Kevin. Shannon and I have done them numerous times but they never loose there appeal.
