Hey gang,

Here's a link to the latest NH Chapter newsletter. Some interesting articles therein about winter in logging camps, womens back country skiing and a near-fatal accident in Huntington Ravine circa 1933.

Jessie Whihehead (daughter of Alfred North Whitehead) was an experienced alpine climber who took to the ice in O'Dell's Gulley with a partner one January day. Her resultant fall and eventual rescue was a big deal back in the day.

Enjoy.

I love old school adventures! O'Dell's is pretty routine for modern day ice climbers, but it certainly wasn't in 1933...

Thanks much for the link, I especially appreciate the logging article. For some reason, I never thought to check the census records for research!
